   Ultracapacitor is a novel energy storage device between conventional electrolytic capacitor and secondary battery , coupled with the former’s high power and the latter’s high energy .Though it is an electrochemical device there are no chemical reactions involved in its energy storage mechanism. This mechanism is highly reversible, allowing the ultracapacitor to be charged and discharged hundreds of thousands to even millions of times. It has unique characteristic advantage such as high specific power , high specific energy , long-life , ultra-low temperature , high reliability , green , which has been applied to energy storage and power delivery solutions for industrial and consumer electronics , automotive, heavy transportation, renewable energy sources , military industry , etc .
